This study set out to survey pesticide usage and concentrations of their residues in lower Yala/Nzoia catchment parts of Lake Victoria, Kenya during the dry and rainy months of 2009. Water and sediment samples were assessed for picked organochlorine and organophosphorus pesticide residues applying gas chromatography equipped with electron capture metal detector. The results of the review showed which the banned organochlorines are still getting used in the catchment.
